K.2495, obv.: Description of circumstances of the evil and its ritual release (o1-8); admonishment to adhere to the instructions (o9); ritual instructions (o10-13); Ki-Utu prayer br 3 to Shamash (o14-17). K.2296 + K.2776, obv. and rev.: Ki-Utu prayer D to Shamash (o1ˊ-6ˊ);
SB Šuʾilla Prayer to Shamash 5 (o7ˊ-12ˊ, r1-3); three lines of formulaic phrases (left edge of obv.); rubric (r4); SB
Šuʾilla Prayer to Nergal 4 (r5-11). K.2495, rev.: Ritual instructions (r1ˊ-8ˊ); description of circumstances of the evil omen and its ritual releasing (r9ˊ-12ˊ); incantation-prayer to the Great Gods 2 (r13ˊ-14aˊ) with further ritual instructions (r14bˊ-15ˊ); catchline (r16ˊ). It was once though that K.2296 + K.2776 indirectly joined to K.2495 (Thureau-Dangin 1924: 129 = RA 21, 129 =
P394469). See Loretz and Mayer 1978, p. XVI and Maul 1994: 388 (he does not treat it as such, though he recognizes the high probability of the fragments belonging together). Baragli 2022: 146-150 shows this is unlikely. I have kept the ATF in place (as of March 2026), since K.2495 is relevant to the material in K.2296 + K.2776.
